Apartment Cleaning Tips if You’re Super Busy

I know the problem. I’m a cleaner. I clean for a living and I like it, but my partner and I have a ton of things we need to do (like watching movies!) ahead of cleaning our own place. So here are some apartment cleaning tips—things we do in our own home—to help other busy people stay on top of the dirt and clutter.
First are the shortcuts. Did you know that the clean appearance of your apartment—and the actual dirt level—can be improved 64.7% (I just made that number up!) by a few simple tricks? The bathroom is, of course, the first room to show dirt. You can help with this if you have a few hacks on hand. One is a washcloth to wet and use whenever the mirror over the sink gets spotty. A second is a washcloth to wipe the sink after you use it. Third, a daily shower cleaner on hand is great to spray on the shower tiles after each use. Method makes a good eco-friendly one. Finally, have a toilet scrubber and some Bon Ami cleanser (also eco-friendly) by the toilet and make it a habit to sprinkle and scrub the toilet bowl after using it every few days.
For the kitchen, a cloth to wipe out the sink, like in the bathroom, is helpful. And be sure you have an eco-friendly sponge with a scratchy back to immediately clean up any spills on the stove or countertops.
In other rooms in the house be sure to have a few decorative boxes strategically placed to toss your clutter in so it doesn’t build up on the surfaces. That way you don’t have to think about it—maybe forever!
Second is the matter of time. Scheduling a small window of time each week to do one task throughout the apartment or one room thoroughly tends to work better for busy people than trying to tackle the whole thing all at once.
Finally, motivation. You might give yourself a reward—like a special food or fun activity—that you treat yourself to only after cleaning. If you live with others, then the divvying up of duties can work in your favor. I have taken on all of the cleaning in my household and, though it sounds burdensome, actually it keeps us cleaner I think because any backsliding all comes back on me so I have some real motivation rather than us simply getting lazy together.
Hopefully these apartment cleaning tips will help you keep things in shape despite your busy schedule!
